2026 BOE Candidates

Meet This Year's BOE Candidates

Amy Connolly

Amy Connolly

Amy (Stevenson) Connolly is a dedicated Redhawk parent of two children, in grades 5 and 8. She is a 2004 graduate of CSSD who was active in the music programs, competitive science teams, Honor Society, and more. She earned a B.S. in Conservation Biology from SUNY-ESF, then worked at Syracuse University for 10 years under the Office of Research Integrity and Protections.

In 2016, she and her family moved back to the district for her children to start their school careers at CSSD. At that time, she became a stay-at-home mom largely due to the burden of childcare costs. Since then, Amy has worked multiple temporary jobs. She served the Town of Constantia as secretary for the Planning and Appeals Boards. Most recently she was the District Director in the office of NYS Senator Christopher Ryan.

Amy is running for the Board of Education because she has always had a strong desire to serve and wants the best for the entire school community. Amy started volunteering around the age of 8 when she joined her parents at the Hastings Volunteer Fire Department, completing any task that she was allowed during or preparing for events. She served as a Vice President on the AA Cole PTO for 3 years.

Now, Amy wants to advocate for all the students in the district but has a special affinity for our music department programs and their value as part of a complete education. Working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds including trade unions, private businesses, education, and local government through her role in the New York State Senate has prepared her well to listen and be a voice for the entire school community.

If you would like to contact Amy, you can reach her at Amy.Connolly.134@gmail.com or 315-623-0484

Steve Patch

Steven Patch

My name is Steven Patch and I am asking for your support on the annual vote for school board members on May 19, 2026.

As a childhood resident of Central Square and graduate of Paul V. Moore high school, I can say that I am thankful for the education that the Central Square School system provided for my wife Karen, our three children and myself.  Karen and I have also hosted eight YFU exchange students in our home. Hosting these students was a fantastic opportunity to share the Central Square community, culture and traditions.

After graduating from PVM, I enlisted in the US Coast Guard and served 20 years of active duty, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer. When I retired from the Coast Guard, I worked as the business manager for my father-in-law’s company J. Brown and Son in West Monroe. Currently I am retired from General Services Administration as a Senior Property Manager in Syracuse. I have a B.S. in Business Administration.

My goal is to remain a member of the school board and to continue to ensure every student has the same high quality education that I was provided. With your support, we can continue that and take on the challenges ahead with dedication to the community. If you have any questions for me, you can email me at stevenwpatch@gmail.com.

Kristy Fischmann

Kristy L. Fischmann

Kristy L. Fischmann is running to retain her seat on the Central Square School Board. Currently finishing her second term, she has served on several committees throughout her service and also served as the vice president of the Board for the 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2023-2024, 2024-2025, and 2025-2026 school years.

As a bit of background, following her graduation as Salutatorian of Paul V. Moore’s Class of 2000, Kristy attended Utica College of Syracuse University where she studied Criminal Justice and Economic Crime Investigation. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2003, following a capstone internship at the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in Lyon, France. She went on to law school where she graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law in 2007. While in law school, she served as an Executive Editor of the Syracuse Law Review and received numerous academic honors, including a National Security and Counterterrorism Law Certificate. She also spent considerable time working as a law clerk in the United States Attorney’s Office, the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office and for a federal Magistrate Judge. Throughout her education, Kristy was also an accomplished athlete, particularly on the rifle range and lacrosse field, and received many honors and athletic awards including induction into the Athletic Halls of Fame for both Paul V. Moore and Utica College.

Kristy currently works as a plaintiff’s attorney for Bottar Law, PLLC in Syracuse. Her practice focuses primarily in cases involving medical malpractice, workplace accidents, motor vehicle accidents, product liability, wrongful death and severe personal injury matters. Prior to joining Bottar Law, PLLC, Kristy practiced law for several years in Central New York, primarily as a medical malpractice defense attorney. Right out of law school, however, she began her legal career working as a criminal defense attorney in New York City. While there, her practice focused almost entirely on white collar criminal defense and related international investigations. For more than seven years, she also served as an adjunct lecturer at Utica College where she taught undergraduate courses on criminal fraud, corporate criminal liability, and economic crime. She has published and lectured on various legal topics.

When Kristy returned home in 2010, she replanted her roots in West Monroe, a little over five miles from where she grew up, where she continues to reside today. She has two children, Kenny, age 16 and Katie, age 13, who have lived their entire lives in West Monroe. In her free time, Kristy volunteers at various school and church (Divine Mercy) functions while also donating her time as a girl’s lacrosse coach in the Rising Redhawks program.

If re-elected, Kristy would continue to work with her peers on the Board to represent the interests of all stakeholders of the District by supporting transparent, fiscally responsible decisions that provide every Central Square student with the high quality, dynamic and engaging educational experience they deserve.
